The C.G.. Jung Foundation presents:

Narcissism in Legends and Fairy Tales

A live, online, audio class with active international student discussion

Beginning April 17, 2012
5 consecutive Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, Eastern Time, USA.

Instructor: Maxson J. McDowell, PhD

Note that you must have a broadband connection, e.g. DSL or cable.
See below for further technical information
.

Hashiguchi Goyo, 1920

Fresh, surprising fairy tales from a wide range of cultures describe narcissistic injuries and show how they may be healed. We will explore a different tale each week, finding that narcissistic injuries have always been addressed with psychological insight.

Like dreams, legends and fairy tales use symbolic images, images which best represent the psyche’s vitality and nuance without trivializing its mystery. In lively, interactive discussion you will practice interpreting such images.

Instructor:

Maxson J. McDowell, PhD, LMSW, LP, is a senior Jungian analyst in private practice in New York City. Secretary, webmaster, and former President of the C.G. Jung Foundation for Analytical Psychology, he has taught popular courses on Jungian psychology — with active classroom participation — for the past twenty-five years.

How the Audio Class Works:

Participants log on to their computers, where they listen to the presentation and can interact via their web connection or by telephone. This is a live online-only class. There will be no recordings available.

After registering for the class, you will receive an email with complete instructions, and a link to access the class. Suggested readings will be listed. Participants will submit dreams to be discussed. This is exclusively a class, not therapy. We will not use participants' own dreams.

For complete step-by-step instructions see the Instructor's website:
Narcissism in Legends and Fairytales Online.
