Workshops and SeminarsThe C.G. Jung Foundation presents
a daylong workshop led by Saturday, February 11, 2012 A negative father complex may make it difficult to trust ourselves, to experience ourselves as basically good and competent. It may damage our sense of entitlement, and profoundly distort our relationship with our own agency and creativity. However, if we are able to stay in relation to such a complex, we will be able to confront it creatively. This can lead to a transformation of the complex that will allow us to experience its helpful side. In this workshop, we will explore the negative father complex through fairy tales such as "Nesoowa and the Chenoo," "Rumplestiltskin," and "The Handless Maiden." Use of biographies (Charlotte Bronte and Margaret Mitchell) and film will round out our discussion. Lisa Marchiano, LCSW, is a Jungian analyst in private practice in Philadelphia. She received her MSW from New York University, and trained with the Inter-regional Society of Jungian Analysts. She is a member of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts. She has had a long interest in fairy tales and their therapeutic use and is currently working on a book exploring motherhood as a psychological experience using fairy tales and myths.
