Workshops and SeminarsThe C.G. Jung Foundation presents
a daylong workshop led by Saturday, March 10, 2012 There is an old song that says, "Only love can break a heart, only love can mend it again." Beginning with the myth of Adam and Eve and spanning to the present every-day struggles, we face relationships, loyalties, and ideas that may need to be broken in order for growth to occur. Breaking the ties that bind is the sine qua non for new and expanding life and is a major theme in the analytical process. Separation is a natural part of normal development, yet sometimes we are faced with separation beyond what the ego is prepared to carry. This is a significant theme which can bring us to our knees and tear us apart inside. It is often depicted in myth, literature, and opera. We will utilize music to convey the feeling state of this theme, along with dreams, fairy tales and individual stories. Anne Pickup, LCMFT, is a Jungian analyst with private practice in Washington D.C. and Annapolis, Maryland. She has a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and received her Diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute in Los Angeles. In addition to her membership in JAWA, she is a founding member of the C.G. Jung Study Center of Los Angeles, past President and faculty member of the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts, and a member of IRSJA and IAAP.
