Workshops and Seminars

The C.G. Jung Foundation presents

Psychological Typology, Individuation, and Social Relations

a daylong workshop led by
Robert R. Klein, EdD

Saturday, May 1, 2010
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In this workshop, we will explore the role of psychological typology in the individuation process, as described by C.G. Jung, C.A. Meier, Marie-Louise von Franz, and James Hillman, and the ways that this process fosters the expansion of social competencies. We will examine the development of various psychological preferences and the acquisition of leadership and social skills. The workshop addresses the dialectic between Extraversion and Introversion, and the balancing of the Thinking and Feeling functions in social relations.

We will also investigate our own psychological preferences and how these can be used to develop skills in leadership, negotiation, group tasks, and interpersonal relations. As a participant, you will receive personal profiles from the Klein Group Instrument for Effective Leadership and Participation in Teams™ (KGI™) to assist you with your individual development. You will learn an approach to social development that addresses issues of self expression, perspective taking, task effectiveness, and emotional awareness. This approach can be applied to your personal lives, as well as to professional, business, and educational settings. The workshop includes an examination of how this model can be utilized for counseling and executive coaching.

Robert R. Klein, EdD is the author of the Klein Group Instrument for Effective Leadership and Participation in Teams. He is a senior professor at Western New England College (Springfield, MA), where he teaches in the education, psychology, and business management programs. He is a member of the teaching faculty at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland.
